What helmet size do I need?

To find out what helmet size you need, you only need to measure the circumference of your head with a measuring tape.

The letter of the size of helmets may vary slightly by manufacturer, therefore, head centimeters appear along with size.

For example, a size M (54-58) for a bicycle helmet means that according to its manufacturer is a size M and is a helmet that can be adjusted to a head that measures between 54 and 58 cm in diameter.

What is my size Bicycle?

While choosing the size of bicycle is something very personal and can vary depending on manufacturer, we are going to indicate the standard method for calculation.

Before you can calculate your bike size, you need to measure the height of your crotch.

To calculate the height of your crotch position, place a book between your legs. The book should be touching the perineum (the part of your body that will be in contact with the saddle of the bike). Now measure the distance between the floor and the top of the book.

Now that you know the height of your crotch, you can calculate your ideal bike size.

Calculate the length of road bikes:

Normally the size of the road bike is expressed in centimeters.

Multiply the height of your crotch by 0.65. This result will indicate the length of the vertical tube of the bicycle frame.

The following table shows some recommendations based on the height of the crotch, showing the results in inches and approximate size.

Calculate the size of mountain bikes:

Normally the size of the mountain bike is expressed in inches, but we can also find the size in centimeters or letters (S, M, L, XL ...).

For measuring in inches, multiply the height of the crotch by 0.21.

For measuring in centimeters, multiply the height of the crotch by 0.54.

This result will indicate the length of the vertical tube of the bicycle frame.

The following table shows some recommendations based on the height of the crotch, showing the results in inches, centimeters and approximate size.

Calculate the size of children's bikes:

To choose the size of a child's bicycle you must look at the child's age, since in this case the size is measured by the size of the wheels.

It is important not to fall into the mistake of thinking that "it is better to buy a bigger bike to last more" as a child with a bigger bike has not come down well or not go easy on the bicycle, and therefore will not secure.

The following table shows recommendations based on age and height of the crotch of the child.
